I found the "Aunt Skeeter" passage for free download on several websites and decided to increase the rigor of the activity and make it more interactive and engaging. When I did this activity with my classes, they enjoyed it.
This activity helps students with multiple skills including using word reference materials, recognizing synonyms, improving writing skills, and building vocabulary.
Aligns with the following Virginia Standards of Learning:
