Introducing "Mad Measures - Halloween Edition"! Your students will love this spider-themed version! Enjoy the colorful slides and graphics while reviewing the notes B and A on the treble clef staff.
“Mad Measures” is an exciting sight-reading game for the recorder that your students will ask to play over and over. Inspired by the “poison” rhythm game, “Mad Measures” is designed to reinforce and increase your students’ ability to read notes on the treble clef staff. This game includes 24 different measures using the notes B and A.
Even though this game was created with recorders in mind, you can use it in a variety of ways. Some suggestions are:
• Line and space note recognition with younger students
• No recorders, no problem! Play the game by asking students
to speak the letter names of the notes.
• Use other melodic instruments such as tone bells, desk bells,
Boomwhackers, tone chimes, etc.
One of the 24 measures in this game is the designated “MAD MEASURE”. Once your students are familiar with this measure, they are to avoid playing it or will incur the wrath of the “MAD MUSICIAN” and be sent temporarily to “Time Out”! If you have questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
