We are resourceful, creative, and pretty amazing beings. We can take a sludgy, smelly mess of crude oil and turn it into colorful, useful products like plastics.
This is the theme of this lesson - for students to learn about how amazing we are as humans.
The lesson is designed to find answers to the inquiry question:
**How are solid objects, made from different kinds of materials the same, and how are they different? **
The students carry out investigations to qualitatively describe a solid's physical properties and compare and contrast the properties of the materials the solids are made from. Thus focusing on the use and improvement of their vocabulary.
The lesson include:
---> a material list a teacher could use
---> instructions to the teacher
---> printable observation forms for tests
---> an authentic assessment to check students' learning
---> interactive word walls for students to increase their vocabulary
