magazine, numbers, number sense, environmental print, hands-on, math center, math workshop
All the awesome parts of using magazine/environmental
print for math workshops and centers, without the fuss!
NO Prep! Print, cut the dotted lined strips, and done!
Place in basket or tub for kids to sort through and find the
numbers they need! Provides opportunities for discriminating
between varieties of fonts and styles, numeral recognition
as well as counting quantities, matching numerals, and fine motor
skills, (not to mention a bit of hands on learning about
text types and purposes!!) Easy to differentiate! Can be a very
independent activity to use for centers, and fantastic for use
with small groups and/or interventions.
“Magazine/environmental print” numbers come in full color,
but could also be photocopied in black and white to save ink!
Mastery of number sense for numbers 0-10 lays the foundation
for all math learning, this provides a purposeful, playful practice!
Pages are separated 0-5 and 6-10
so that you can limit or
increase the numbers as needed for differentiation.
Practice pages offer multiple representations for practice,
Counting dots, counting dice, counting tallies, and combination.
Two of the practice pages provide a spinner, to spin, count, and
then find and glue the numeral.
