This packet includes five magazine scavenger hunts: animals, things, people, transportation, and food. The directions are basic, simple, and useful for beginning to intermediate ELL students. Magazine Scavenger Hunts are fun for ELL students to complete in small groups or individually. They can be completed as part of a competition or you can allow students to work until they have collected 15 pictures. Magazine Scavenger Hunts are a great way to engage ELL students in using nouns and adjectives in a fun, hands-on way. These can be used for more advanced ELLs if you make the writing part more complex.
NOTE: The teacher will need to provide magazines in order for students to complete this activity.
