This comprehensive product provides everything you need to facilitate a learning unit on the magazine industry! The unit concludes with students being split into teams. Each staff (or team) works together to compile a magazine complete with a cover, table of contents, masthead page, editorial page, and lots of articles and advertisements! The assignment, presented by the Editor-in-Chief (that's YOU, the teacher!) is to create a magazine for students new to your school.
As a teacher, even YOU will learn about the magazine production process! (My twin sister works in the magazine industry. She gave me countless pieces of "insider information" and helped me create the powerpoint, many of the worksheets, and tons of details in the teacher directions page.)
This product includes:
-a 20 slide Power Point
-a 6 page document that serves as your teaching guide for this unit
-PHOTOS of an example magazine in a binder and example pages
-the following worksheets
1. Magazine Text Features Scavenger Hunt
2. Aiming at a Target Audience

To get a good feel for this project, the best thing to do is probably open the preview and take a look at it!
I created this project for my students to do at the end of the school year. It is a fun way to wrap up the year, especially once the spring standardized tests are out of the way!
