This is a Powerpoint presentation which was created to supplement student understanding and the building of background knowledge for the Magic Tree House Book #29: Christmas in Camelot. Before reading, students will view this Powerpoint discussion questions. Students will be introduced to 5 discussion questions which will get them ready to read while activating their prior knowledge through the use of several research based graphic organizers - K-W-L, Semantic Mapping, Talking Drawings, Book Log and Venn Diagram. Students are provided links to further their understanding while connecting the internet and other technology to building a better understanding of the topic.
Students will also be guided through the preview of the book - front cover, back cover, table of contents and picture walk. Students will then review the key terms they've collected through the preview and write a prediction using the terms in the culminating list at the end.
