Who doesn't love Magic Tree House? I have created a fun, versatile resource for students to independently work on - great for Daily 5 centers or readers workshop! Students will enjoy reading Dolphins at Daybreak and completing the engaging activities!
Included in this book study:
-Student cover page
-Before reading page
-Comprehension questions for each chapter (including skills such as recall, predicting, visualizing, cause/effect, inferring, sequencing, and using context clues to figure out unknown vocabulary)
-Five related nonfiction articles/questions
-Story sequencing practice
-Create a new cover activity (students design and write about a new cover for the story)
-Fact finder activity (students research other animals from the story and record what they learn)
-Postcard activity (students create a post card and pretend to be either Jack or Annie)
-Jack/Annie character analysis
-"Animal for the Day" writing (students select one of the animals from the informational articles and write about why they think it would be fun to be that animal for the day)
I created this resource thinking of my high-level first graders, but it would also work with second graders and third graders as well! As always, thank you for your interest in my products and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns prior to purchase.
