This booklet can be copied as is and stapled into a booklet. The booklet will take at least 2 science classes to go through, and includes an assessment on the back page. I make sure that I use the word "iron" to discuss what magnets will stick to. We discuss how steel is made from iron and so will stick to magnets too. Stainless steel contains so little iron that magnets won't stick. The students love these hands on activities, and they help dispel many common misunderstandings about magnets. For the broken magnet part, I demonstrate this with a broken magnet.
