Are your students interested in the power of magnets? Mine are, and this booklet guides my mini-unit. All you will need is this booklet for each of your students, some real magnets (I have purchased mine at the Dollar Store before), and real-life objects. My students watch a brainpopjr.com video about magnets. Then, we explore with our magnets and real-life objects such as paperclips, rocks, nails, buttons, bouncy balls, coins, marbles, etc. This booklet will guide the discussion as the students read, write, draw, and label what they have learned. The booklet ends with an invitation to look at home for more magnets! I love when my students return their booklets the next day, eager to discuss their findings.
