Main Idea (Non-Fiction)
Students can practice identifying the main idea and supporting details through color coding. This resource gives students multiple opportunities to practice recognizing text organization. When students can see the organization of a written paragraph, they can more easily identify the main idea.
In this resource you will find: anchor posters, graphic organizers that can be applied to any text, color coded non-fiction practice passages that increase in difficulty, and an answer key.

**I've used this in 3rd - 5th grade, but my own second grader is advanced, and it would work well for him. I've also taught title I 6th graders, and it would work well with them too. :)
