This file contains 15 passages where students will find the main idea and two supporting details.
The students will choose the correct sentence for the main idea and details and glue it in the correct spot. I have also included the same passages where the students will have to come up with the main idea and details. They will write it in the boxes and then cut and glue the boxes in the correct spot. All of the passages are nonfiction passages.
These passages are great for differentiated learning. You can use them in small groups, in a literacy center, as homework, or as morning work.
You can also have students highlight the main idea and supporting details in the passage after they have read it.
These passages are best suited for 2nd and 3rd graders, but they could be used in a small group with higher first graders.
