These main idea and details digital reading activities are perfect for your differentiated small group guided reading lessons, or as differentiated independent practice assignments to check your students' understanding, while allowing them to work on their level!
Students will be analyzing details to sort them into related topics and then determining the main idea for each group of supporting details and using their work to create five-sentence paragraphs. As an extension, students are challenged to create a title for each paragraph slide, and add nonfiction text features that extend the information in their paragraphs.
This activity can be done independently or collaboratively, gets your students thinking critically, and allows for creativity - ENGAGING with the 5 Cs! This has always been a hit in my classroom, and I'm sure it will be the same in yours!
This bundle includes two versions - one with supporting details written on a 2/3 grade level, and one with details written on a 4/5 grade level.
The Google Slides are EDITABLE, so you can change the details to match your social studies or science curriculum for cross-curricular learning, or to match specific student interests in your classroom.
