This main idea activity is great for students still struggling to grasp the concept of a main idea statement. It starts by giving students two options, then three options, then the students are asked to write their own statements. The students will also answer the following questions to help guide them to finding the main idea: who/what is the passage about? What is the most important idea about the who/what?
It also gives reminders to the students on what they should look for when reading at the top!
I hope you enjoy!
