Task cards are a fun way for students to practice using skills you have already taught– skills like main idea! Students can practice these skills through activities in centers, by playing “Scoot”, or through another activity you have created!
These cards have been made with differentiation in mind! With the orange set, you can have students write their own main idea on the answer sheet, or you can have students match-up the selection with the main idea on the corresponding orange-bordered cards, and then write the letter for the main idea on the answer sheet. The blue set allows students to choose the main idea from three choices that are given on the card itself. Students simply write A, B or C on the answer sheet. You can “grade” student responses yourself, or you can display the “key” for students to self-check.
