Task cards are a great tool to use in your classroom. You can use them in small groups, in literacy centers, or as independent work. Just print the cards, cut them out, and laminate them.
These task cards are best suited for students in 2nd or 3rd grade.
These cards could be used at the end of 1st grade.
**This product includes 16 main idea task cards. There are 8 fiction cards and 8 non-fiction cards. The task cards contain paragraphs with 3 multiple choice answers. The students can read the paragraph and answer the question on their recording sheet. There are 2 recording sheets included. There is one for fiction task cards and one for non-fiction task cards. The answer keys are also included.
This file also includes 2 main idea worksheets and 16 QR codes. There are 8 codes with the answers to the the fiction task cards and 8 codes with answers to the non-fiction task cards. The student will use the QR codes for self-checking. Once they scan the code, the QR code reader will show them the answer.
QR codes are a fun way for students to check their work with an answer key. You can print these QR codes on regular paper, cut them out, and glue or tape them to the back of the task cards. You can also just print the QR codes out on regular paper and leave them as a whole sheet. The students can scan all of the answers to check their recording sheets. You will need an electronic device with a QR code reader to scan the QR codes. This would make a great literacy center or small group activity.
