This product is designed to help your students practice identifying the main idea of non-fiction texts. Each of the twelve cards included has a short non-fiction passage (expository or biography) and a multiple-choice question asking students to identify the main idea of the passage. Also included is an anchor chart with tips on how to figure out the main idea, an answer key and a record sheet for student answers.
These cards are especially useful for test preparation because they can be used as a group or partner activity. Having students work in groups makes test prep more interactive and relieves some of the stress that usually goes along with this kind of preparation.
