PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This packet includes three activities that will help students practice developing and writing the main idea of a passage through the use of newspaper articles.

It Needs a Title:
Students read 5-15 articles with missing titles. As they read, they record their own titles on the recording sheet provided.

Can You Find the Title:
Using the same 5-15 articles or a variety of new articles, students practice matching the correct article with the title.

Class Articles:
This can be used as a whole group, small group, or independent activity, depending on your needs. In this activity, students begin with a blank temple in which they take turns completing based on the main idea to develop an article about a topic of their choice.
