Hey, Whats the Big Idea? is an educational main idea and detail game. Once a topic strip has been chosen from one of 3 skill levels, players have two minutes to list as many details as possible. Each unique detail will earn a point. However, if details are organized under a main idea, they can earn two points for each unique heading. Players can try to beat their own scores or they can compete against others. This game improves language abilities, organizational skills, and word retrieval. It also assists students with conceptualizing main ideas and details through a game of direct application. Mastery of main ideas and details is important as it is fundamental in reading and writing! This game can be played with 1 to 7 players, cooperatively or competitively.
