I took one of my most popular main idea activities and developed a GOOGLE DRIVE version! Several teachers have asked me to expand my creations to include Google products, so I finally got around to giving it a try! Please note, this contains the same content as my Earth Foldable Book Craftivity
, but it is in a different format.
With this main idea and details craftivity, your students will match 3 detail sentences to the correct main idea sentence.
All of the main idea sentences are related to the Earth. These are the main idea sentences:
Earth has a very specific place in the solar system.
The Earth formed billions of years ago.
The Earth has four layers.
Sometimes natural disasters occur on Earth.
There are many ways that we can protect Earth and its resources for a better future.
First, students read a detail sentence, and determine which main idea sentence it supports. Then, they copy the sentence and paste it to the appropriate page. Students follow this procedure with 16 detail sentences in all.
Two versions are included in this file: a color version and a blackline version. Teachers who only want their students to complete the online activity will probably choose to use the color version. Teachers who wish to have their students complete the online activity, PLUS print out their finished product and assemble the craftivity will probably choose to use the blackline version.
The document includes student-friendly directions that can be projected for students to refer to as they assemble the craftivity! An answer key is also included.
The file also includes directions for how to access and share this resource.
