In this book, there are 8 cut-and-paste activities provided for your students to practice Main Idea and Details.
Each of the first 5 activities provided includes a low-level paragraph, a cut-and-paste response component, a main idea and details graphic organizer, and a visual support for the paragraph.
1. Read the low-level paragraph and reference the photo/illustration.
2. Give each student the corresponding main idea and detail cut-and-paste strip (provided for the teacher after all 5 of the paragraph worksheets.)
3. Students cut-and-paste the main idea and details into the organizer beside the given paragraph.
There are also 3 additional cut-and-paste activities which include 4 “detail” photographs. The student must cut the photos and paste them into the given organizer. They must provide their own main idea in the given organizer. The blank ”4 detail” graphic organizer may be used multiple times for all three activities.
