Main Idea and Details - This FUN main idea activity will help students practice the important concept of main idea and supporting details without having to get through another boring worksheet. Students will think of a new imaginary invention (the more unrealistic the better!) and fill out a circle map graphic organizer with the important details. Then, they will use that information to write a paragraph about the invention beginning with a main idea sentence and followed by the supporting details. Finally, students will write that main idea sentence at the top of a hand-drawn picture of their invention in action. Example circle map and drawings are included in this product to make sure students understand the directions.
