A game to sort sentences that belong to the same category, “main idea”, “supporting details” and “a non-example”.
In this activity students are not required to read a passage. They simply sort sentences within a set of five, trying to make sense of them and establish their meaning within a context.
Reinforces the concept of Main Idea and Supporting Details after it has been introduced to the class. It also includes a “non-example” sentence.
This game includes 15 sets of sentences with different difficulty levels. Each set is identified by an icon to aid in organizing the cards during and after playing the game.
It is recommended to print in card stock and laminate for durability. The cards need to be cut after laminating.
Aligned to Common Core Standards for 3rd and 4th grade!
