Description

This worksheet printable or Google formatted will have students consider extinction rates on land versus on Islands.

Recent findings are showing an alarming new trend: for the first time, mainland extinctions are outpacing island extinctions. Have students learn more about these important environmental issues by examining the situation of eight bird species, including two species of macaw, that are set to have their extinctions confirmed in the next few years. The Spix's Macaw is the highlighted bird closest to extinction.
