This 1 hour recorded presentation was created to in-service members of a school team who work with a student with hearing loss who is learning through listening and spoken language. The student may wear hearing aids or have been implanted with 1 or 2 cochlear implants. This information is not entirely applicable for a child using sign language via an interpreter in the mainstream setting. This presentation is also appropriate to use for parent education for families of children with hearing loss who have chosen a listening and spoken language path.
The PowerPoint provides an overview of the impact of hearing loss on learning and the challenges a child with hearing loss faces in the mainstream educational setting.
