This project may used with any story, novel, or drama. The students will create an online blog from the first-person perspective of a major character of a story. They will choose ten major events from a story, and create a blog entry for each event that summarizes and reacts to what happened.
The project uses the GRASPS project-based learning format (Goal, Role, Audience, Situation, Product, and Standards for Success) from Wiggins, Grant and Jay McTighe. A grading rubric is included to guide the students in their product creation and writing.
The students will practice and master the following skills:
--Identify and incorporate textual evidence
--Write using effective techniques, point of view, descriptive details, and well-structured sequences.
--Try new approaches to writing focusing on specific purposes and audiences.
