PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a college-level, major assignment in College Composition. This project is designed to be the follow-up to the Major Writing Assignment "Who Am I: Dialogue with Others." This project asks students to use their creative skills to combine oral tradition and storytelling in a conversation with an older family member that will immerse them in their family’s stories. The goal is to acknowledge and understand the past in order to imagine and create a better future to work toward in the present. Assignment includes two writing prompts, suggestions and specific guidance for crafting this essay, and also encourages creativity and risk-taking in writing choices. Classroom tested for four years at one U.S. institution of higher education. Useful for a writing courses themed around self-discovery, family, or creativity.
