"Make 10: Insect Friends" is a fun game to practice making number pairs to ten! This set features cute and colorful insect friends. This game can be differentiated to suit the needs of your students. Choose to play “Make 10”, or modify the game and play “Make 5”. You can choose to use either dot pattern cards, numeral cards, or combine them.
This game can be played in small groups (or alone). Cards are laid out upside down in a grid pattern. Children take turns flipping over 2 cards and determine their total. If it equals 10 (or 5) they keep the cards. The player with the most pairs at the end of the game is the winner! Alternatively, students can work together to create pairs totaling 10.
This game is perfect for your math centers or as an ‘Early Finisher' activity, as well as an enrichment activity to supplement Engage NY - Eureka Math program.
