This calendar is designed for the speech pathologist, teacher, parent, student or anyone who likes to keep track of the small things that add up to big things! It is the perfect way to start off the new year, without making definitive and specific resolutions that often stress us out and then later fizzle out!
The purpose of this calendar is to serve as a simple and effective way of keeping track of daily personal and professional accomplishments. In each calendar box write just ONE success or accomplishment (no matter how small or simple it was!) Use it to remind yourself to focus on what you DID accomplish, not on what you DIDN’T/COULDN’T finish at the end of the day. By the end of the week/ month/year, you will have many reminders of all the positive, productive, meaningful tasks that you completed!
Use it as a visual reminder of all the things that made your day (or someone else’s) count in some way. Your accomplishments might be a personal goal such as taking a two mile walk, drinking 8 glasses of water, getting to sleep 15 minutes earlier than the night before, fixing that loose door knob; or professional, such as getting a student to finally produce an initial /r/ sound ten times in a session, finishing an IEP or getting to work 30 minutes early to finish paperwork. The important message is that you remind yourself that you are moving forward, making a difference in some small (or large) way, and always trying to “make each day count.”
To use this calendar: Print out pages 3-15. Place staples across the top of the calendar. You can double side your pages by changing print options to save paper. You can use the “NOTES” section at the bottom of each calendar page to reflect on the meaning of the inspirational quote for each month and how it applies to your own life.
Keep your calendar in your school planner, at your workspace at home, or somewhere you will remember to take a moment to record a few words during each day.
