The Make It Real Learning Activity Library, Volume 2 contains 110 engaging common core real-world math activities that demonstrate everyday applications of mathematics. From Buying Candy: Finding Unit Cost to Let Us Count the Ways: Working the License Plate Combinations, the activities provide learners with valuable life skills in addition to mathematical understanding. Rest assured that each activity integrates real world information not just "realistic" data.

There are 11 workbooks in Volume 2, each containing 10 real-world math activities and solutions. To make it easier for teachers to assess student work, the worked-out solutions are included on a duplicate copy of each activity.

I worked with a Grade 7/8 class on some of the worksheets. The students really got engaged with the "Shopping the Sale" worksheet, partly because "Aeropostale" is really "in" right now (indeed, almost half of the girls in the class were WEARING something by Aeropostale on the day we did this!), and partly because the "on-line" prices quoted were quite a bargain compared to what students pay here! In addition to solving the questions on the worksheet, students wanted to extend the problems even further! (It's not often you get to hear, "Can we do more math?" from Gr. 7s and 8s!)"
