Using the poem Bleezer’s Ice Cream by Jack Prelutsky, students will create their own mixed-up, outrageous ice cream flavors. They write about them using "juicy, delicious, disgusting" adjectives. The activity culminates with an ice cream cone drawing activity where they draw their own weird flavors. It is an uproariously good time and engages even the most reluctant participators!
This activity can be used with students of any grade. I teach 2-3 but older students read Jack Prelutsky and will have a great time creating wacky ice cream for Bleezer's Ice Cream Shop!
