We create interactive science notebooks every year and they are definitely a work in progress! This is always one of the early entries in our science notebook every year during our study of ecosystems! First, students complete the terrarium project and place the information cards (shaped like jars) into their notebooks with metal brads. We placed the other pages (use all or pick and choose) into the notebooks as well. Some we fold in half and glue and others we glue in as they are, I like to let students have some creative choice in how they display these pages. We chart the vocabulary words together as a class.
I copy the mason jar pages onto white cardstock, so they are more durable. We find many of the plants we put in the terrariums in our school yard area. Terrariums are technically plants only, no animals.
I do not reduce the size of the mason jar cards.
Our science notebooks are composition books, so I reduce each page to 80% when I copy them.
I will be posting more of these interactive science notebook packs as I make them, topic by topic. You will be able to purchase the ones that are appropriate to your students and your curriculum!
