Give students blank word search templates. Then have students create their own word lists (or use pre-made list) and then hide the words. Have students trade word searches and then complete them.
I’ve included three word searches that can be used at any time (one of the three is for longer words) and the rest are themed word searches.
A few ways you can use student created word searches in your classroom.
-Use words from word wall
-Use weekly spelling list
-Use sight words or high frequency words
-Use textbook vocabulary words
-Use noun, verb, adjective, proper nouns, etc. word search
-Have kids make up word lists about current subject being studied.

-7 different holiday searches
