Your mother asked you to run to the local donut shop and pick up a couple donuts for the family. Each donut costs a dollar. In order to earn the donuts for your family, you must first solve value of the coins on each card and then figure out how much more money is needed to make a dollar.
Players must start at the donut shop and make their way home to eat their delicious donuts by rolling the dice. On each space they land, the players must solve the money problem. For each problem solved correctly, the player may circle a donut of his/her choice on his/her Donut Box card and bring it home to his/her hungry family! The player with the most donuts wins!
In this Smarten-Up file folder game, students will practice coin identification, adding coin values, and finding the amount of money still required to make a dollar. Students can use various methods such as counting on or subtracting from $1.00. Students are sure to have a blast and learn with ease in this high motivating format.
