The Make a Dollar puzzle aligns coin values with a hundred grid to make them more concrete and allows students to literally build a dollar or one hundred cents using the different coins. There is an accompanying "How Many Ways Can You Make a Dollar?" worksheet. This puzzle can be used during guided math, and then for independent review practice. Further tips for use are included in the download.
The Coin Resource Chart makes use of the pieces from the puzzle to create a resource chart for students to take home or use in the classroom that they can refer to when working with identifying coins and their values. The students can cut and paste the images of the coins, the coin values, and the corresponding pieces of the puzzle onto the chart. Alternatively, real or play coins can be taped to the chart instead of coin images, if you have that kind of money! (Hehe.)
(Page count does not include answer keys, samples, and tips/intro letter. Actually document is 14 pages long.) This is my first paid product on TPT, so please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!
