This purchase is perfect for a teacher who needs a low-prep, quick, and engaging writing activity that is accessible for ALL writers! This activity is accessible to writers of most levels (particularly effective in grades 3-6) and can be as challenging as YOU demand it to be!
This purchase includes 48 Make a List! task cards and 2 sets of answer recording sheets. Each task card includes several colorful graphics to provide inspiration to those students who need an extra BRAIN BOOST! The lists start literal, and begin to increase in difficulty, asking students to think inferentially and categorize items in unique ways.
♥LA Station♥ Students use the included answer sheets to record their lists. Once they record as many as they can on the given list, they meet with a partner and compare lists. Students CIRCLE items that are alike, STAR their favorite idea of the other, and add to their lists with new ideas.
♥Morning Meeting♥ As students come in for the morning, have them begin their list making. Students can share their favorite ideas during morning meeting or a greeting opportunity.
♥Friendly Competition♥ Present the list topic and time limit. Start the timer... and GO! (I typically give students 2-3 minutes.) At the end, we share how many we came up with. This game works in classes that can handle and enjoy friendly competition.
