What is better than having your students work together to solve problems? "Make a Loop" is an engaging partner activity that inspires wonderful communication and teamwork between your students. The students will cut out 12 cards then tape them back together (matching question to answer). My students LOVE the end product: a giant loop of paper that often gets worn as a necklace or even Rambo-style!! This is perfect for Math Centers because the students need little to no assistance from the teacher.
The questions in this activity focus on proportionality (identifying the constant of proportionality, applying proportionality in word problems, and finding price per pound, kilometers per hour, etc). This is a great way to reiterate vocabulary; having students explain things to each other is one of the best ways to get them talking about Math!
