Help students plan an artwork connected to community and everyday life.
This acts as a pre-assessment, establishes an understanding of revision and reflection, and also integrates smoothly as a part of a modified choice art classroom, geared to intermediate elementary grades.
In order to help students develop their art skills, we as teachers can help them more thoughtfully design their own creative artworks. Giving ownership to the idea within an artwork can be a part of a modified choice art classroom, to begin building an understanding of artistic behaviors (TAB), and also Project Based Learning (PBL). Our youngest students need to understand the concept of a plan/practice itself. As the teacher, you can help guide them through this process so they can make more meaningful artworks!
