Want a way to get your students out of their seats, having fun AND practicing their color words? Here it is!
Print the cards, using the wavy blue lines to print the back side (optional). Laminate.
Pass out cards - one per student. Then say GO! Students must find the animal that is the color of their word or vice versa. Once a match is made, students freeze. When all matches have been made, point at each pair and have them shout out their color word.
If your students are like mine, they'll want to play again and again. So, I tell them that every time I say switch, they have to trade cards with somebody. After 5-6 trades, I call out GO!, and students pair up again.
This is a fun, interactive way to practice color words. You may want to model how to approach a classmate and ask to see if his/her card is a match. I'm sure your class will catch on quickly and this game will soon be a favorite!
Includes 11 animal cards and 12 color word cards (both spellings of gray).
