These instructions will allow students to get creative and build their own edible solar system. I distributed bags with various types of candies in it. They had to draw on a piece of paper the "orbits" of each planet and then pick a candy to represent it.
If you want the students to be able to eat their solar system after words, then don't have them glue it. Maybe they could just lay it out with tape (or icing) .
In the worksheet make sure the students give a reason for why the chose that certain candy to represent that planet. It will allow for some more thought to be put into it.
If you don't have big enough paper you can always just tape 2 sheets together.
After they are through making it, they have a few questions to answer about the planets!
