As a Spanish teacher, grading students' writing is essential. What's even more important is providing feedback. This feedback can be long, tedious and burdensome, especially with 175 students. I created this chart with codes that I now use instead of writing phrases or comments. Once you get used to the codes, I estimate it cuts grading time by about 20%!
The second part of this is I created a huge 36 x 48 poster and it is hanging in my classroom. When I hand back writing, the students are looking at the poster to see their errors. They have become so used to it that now they speak the lingo: "Oh, I need to work on my noun adjective agreement!".
I hope this helps you as much as it has been a game changer for me!
