First and Second grades made this easy grasslands habitat with simple materials. This 22 page kit includes a list of easy directions for making this paper habitat in one quick science center, photos of 8 African savanna mammals and 4 interesting birds of the African savanna. (There are 2 different photos of the meerkat and the secretary bird.)
There is a photo of a savanna for you to show your class, with a great example of the umbrella thorn tree, so they can draw their own tree on their paper.
Also in the pack are two worksheets. One lists the same 12 mammals and birds, and the second directs students to write the names in alphabetical order.
I have included a sample photo of a finished grasslands habitat, and also a sample of the rain forest one, too. This is because once you have tried your hand at putting this habitat together, you will be able to repeat the process for all the other habitats you would like your class to create. It is easy to google images of any creature you wish to print for each habitat.
