Product Description
Children love reading stories so why not have them make their very own story? This package allows children to make and write their very own stories!

This pack contains 16 story cards. The primary purpose of these story cards is for students to make their own stories based on the word(s) on the cards! Each story card shows a picture and relevant word(s). Each card features a different pictures related to Christmas. Children pick from these cards to make their own story. As they pick new cards, they will add new elements to their stories. They must incorporate the word(s) on their card in their story. This game challenges students’ creativity and imagination . It improves their skills to link ideas, sequence and develops their vocabulary.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are 2 ways that students can make their own story dependent on the teacher’s preference. You can use the cards for a story making session that involves writing or speaking! This activity is great for group or one-to-one classes.

Instructions:
1) First, read the story book (‘Santa forgot Christmas?’) so that the students have an idea of what they are expected to do.
2) Explain to them that they will be making stories based on story cards. They should aim to incorporate the word(s) on their card in their story.

Writing:
1) Print out the two sheets of story cards for each student.
Hand out either the write-your-own story Worksheet or the story book template. For the story book template, you can print out several pages of the ‘Then…’ template if you prefer students creating a longer story.
2) Ask your students to use the worksheet or story book template to write their own story. They need to cut and paste the story cards from the story sheet onto the worksheet/template. Ask them to share their own stories afterwards!

Speaking
1) Print & cut out all the story cards and laminate them. Keep the story cards in a jar.
2) First, the teacher picks a story card from the jar/box. He/ She starts off the story making session by saying a sentence incorporating the word(s) on his/her card. Eg. the teacher picks a ‘panda’ card’, he/she can start off by saying “Once upon a time, I met a talking panda.” Then the story can be continued by another student, and another student, etc.
3) Pass the jar around the class, each student should pick out 1 card each time. They should attempt to continue the story.
