Over 70 Makerspace Challenges guaranteed to bring the MAKE back into your SPACES. Maker Maps are a creative way to bring purpose and meaning to your Makerspaces!! Maker Maps are a set of *EDITABLE* challenges that utilize the variety of materials and centers that your library or classroom has to offer.

Formatted to resemble a treasure map, students work through seven building challenges and a free choice activity per map. Once a student has completed their map, they earn a treasure of your choice! Then, they are on to a new map full of new challenges.

Maker Maps have positively changed my Makerspace program! Honestly, I cannot imagine going back. Prior to the maps, I noticed that the same kids were coming in and using the same materials in the very same way. Every. Single. Time. I talked and talked about purposeful making. However, I continued to find wasted materials in the garbage bin. At times, kids came to make and seemed at a loss as to where to begin.

Maker Maps changed all of that! The Maps work because they make kids think!! While, at the same time, they give students choice, choice of building materials and structures within the parameters set by you. I was worried that the kids would be upset that I took their "free play" away; however, I found that they actually enjoyed having the structure and loved sharing with us what they had achieved!

Each Makerspace is unique and full of different resources. That's why each of the ten Maker Maps is completely editable in Microsoft Word. You are given seventy Maker challenges to keep, adapt, or change altogether!
