Cooking in the classroom is a motivating learning experience. It’s a hands on activity and can extend the learning in all aspects of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
Why not designate a day of the week to using your Maker Space as a Cooking Place? Kids can tinker with the supplies and ingredients provided to create innovative recipes and food presentations. They can record their process in a journal and save a recipe page as part of a class book to be shared on your library shelf for years to come.
I hope this guide will inspire you to invite cooking to
your maker space this year!
