These challenge task cards are meant to be quicker activities that can be done over the course of a few weeks to a month through a Maker Space. My students keep a Maker Space Journal to keep their challenge chart and lab sheets. On the chart, the students keep track of which challenges they have completed. We use chart seal stickers on it, but students can also use stamps, hand-drawn happy faces, etc. You can choose if your students complete all of the lab sheets or some of them.
box of foil sheets (2-3 boxes) - pipe cleaners (2 packs) - tub of water
scissors - masking tape - ruler
bag of glass gems - 2 plastic basket containers (for class challenges)
There are 12 individual or pair challenges and 2 class challenges that students work on together. I copy the challenge cards with the question on the front and materials on the back onto colored cardstock and laminate them. I punch holes in the corners and book ring them together.
Time to get your Maker Space designed and ready!
