The “Build a Bubble” Maker Task challenges students to experiment with the design of bubble wands and solutions of bubble mix to create bubbles in unique ways. This is a perfect Spring, Summer, or Fall project for the classroom or home school. Your class can maximize a great outdoor day to test their creations! All aspects of STEAM should be used in the planning and creation of bubble wands and solutions.

Why a bubble project? Who doesn’t love bubbles? We love blowing them and watching them swirl away from us on the wind. We love challenging ourselves to blow a bigger bubble, one that will last the longest, or even bounce. We also enjoy playing with the shapes of bubbles and exploring the ways in which the construction of the wand can affect the bubbles produced by it. Although there is great beauty in the bubbles themselves, we can turn the construction of wands into an amazing art project by adding beads, ribbons, and other decorations. Many of us also enjoy playing with the recipes to create bigger, sturdier, and longer-lasting bubbles.

Each Maker Task will include:
Teacher Notes
an invitation to the Task, including details of how to proceed
a suggested list of supplies unique to the Task and letters to ask for donations
a STEAM (STEM) Journal customized for that particular task
a simpler verson of the STEAM (STEM) Journal for differentiation
All student pages are in grayscale.

I hope you will enjoy using these Tasks to focus on Science and Engineering Practices
in your learning community!
