Product Description
Are you and your students part of the Maker movement already, or about to embark on a journey as makers? Inviting them to Imagine a Maker Space of their own will make your space even more special! I am so excited to add this new task to my Maker Space School Theme Kit bundle!

The “Imagine a Maker Space” Maker Task challenges students to dream of a perfect place in their own classroom or school for makers to imagine, dream, create, and problem solve. All aspects of STEAM should be used in the planning and building of the Maker Space model.

Why ask students to design their own Maker Space? You may already have one in place or be about to set one up. Students who engage in authentic learning like this Maker Task will feel that they have a voice and a hand in their own learning experiences. If you use an idea or two from your students, or post their ideas on the wall, the Maker Space that you have will become their space with personal meaning.

You may choose to have your students take this challenge only so far as the design process without actually building the model Maker Space. The building of the model could be suggested as an at-home project. Of course, with enough materials in your Maker Space boxes, the construction of the models could easily happen in your classroom or school Maker Space.
