This activity involves using a 10 frame to teach making 10 or missing addends. The product includes an interactive PowerPoint and student tools (a kibble 10 frame work mat and a student response sheet). The students follow along with the PowerPoint. There are 8 problems and the students must use their work mats to figure out which number is missing. Work mats could easily be placed inside sheet protectors and drawn on with Expo markers, or you can make it more fun by purchasing Cocoa Puffs for your students to use as "kibble." So if the problem is 3 + ___= 10, the students will place 3 pieces of kibble on their work mats, and then add on to find out how many more pieces is needed to make 10. There is also a place for students to draw and record their answers on their response sheets. Students continue along with the PowerPoint through the 8 problems.
