Students will study wind speed and weather by building and using their own anemometers.
This can be a one or two day activity, depending on the weather. I also incorporated this into their math and writing lesson. They were working on different types of graphs, so they presented their results as bar graphs. They were able to practice writing sentences in their conclusion, as well.
This activity is fun and totally worth the time, especially for younger elementary students. Kindergarten students may need more guidance and especially with the fine motor skills for building the anemometer.
